BEESTON & CHILWELL DISTRICT LADIES DARTS LEAGUE

RULES AND CONDITIONS OF THE LEAGUE

 

REGISTRATIONS

  1. Entrance fee to the league is £15 per team, this includes entrance into the League Knock Out Cup and the Anniversary Cup.

  2. A fee of £2 is payable by the player requiring registration. For the first match of the season players may register and be permitted to play on that night, thereafter, form and money must be received by any Executive Committee member, 24 hours before required match. NB: Player registrations can not and will not be accepted unless accompanied with the correct fee.

  3. It shall be deemed an offence for a player to sign, register or play under an assumed name or attempt to do so whatsoever.

  4. A player may transfer from one team to another provided said player has not played for their original team and subject to the Executive Committee receiving a re-registration form and £2 fee.

  5. Player’s signatures can be requested to be checked if in dispute by putting “PLEASE CHECK SIGNATURE OF (player’s name)” in the comments section of the match sheet.

  6. A player is only permitted to play once during any match. (Exception – see rule 33).

  7. Player registrations and transfers shall cease on the 31st December.

  8. The League will accept registrations from persons over 16 years of age. It is up to the discretion of independent Landlords, Landlady’s or Stewards etc., as to whether that particular player is allowed to participate at their pub/club. It is up to the team Captain/Secretary to inform the away venue of an under 18 years of age player and must abide by the decision of the Landlord, Landlady, Steward etc.

DARTBOARD AND SET UP

  1. The board shall be hung 5ft 8in (1.73 metres) from the floor measured in a plumb line from the centre of the bull. The oche will be a fixed mark 6ft (1.83 metres) from the base of the plumb line. This makes a dimension of 8ft 3in (2.52 metres) on the diagonal from the centre of the bull. The dartboard itself should be a standard doubles and trebles board, flanked by chalk boards either side of it.

  2. The oche should be 2ft 6in (0.75 metres) minimum length, the rear of which is the recognised point of throwing. Any player whose feet go beyond this mark will have their throw deemed a “no throw” and forfeit that go.

RULES GOVERNING PLAY

  1. The markers shall mark by subtraction.

  2. The score obtained (SCORED) will be marked in the column furthermost fro the dartboard and the score required (WANTED) in the column nearest the dartboard.

  3. The markers must be prepared to announce the amount still required if so requested by the players. The amount required must be announced as a whole number i.e. 32 and NOT as double 16. Only the markers are allowed to announce any score once a dart has been thrown, in any game.

  4. Markers are in charge of the game in progress.

  5. Markers must face the dart board and not smoke or drink whilst marking so as not to distract the players.

  6. In league matches the away team will throw first in legs 1, 3 and 5, the home team will throw first in legs 2 and 4.

  7. Each league match shall comprise 8 ladies, playing pairs in 1st, 3rd and 5th legs and singles in 2nd and 4th legs. Each match shall be 8.45pm start, playing 501, finish on a double, bull counts as double.
    Hint: If your match finishes early why not play the “Gallon”.

  8. For a score to count the dart point must be touching the board.

  9. League matches to be played as per the fixture list. Any team unable to play due to weather conditions, illness, epidemics or death shall inform the General Secretary of the reasons, giving at least 24 hours notice. Failure to give such notice will result in the game having to go ahead or if none attendance made the result going to the other team. If permission is granted for postponement of the game, the game must take place within 4 weeks of the original date. If this proves difficult to arrange due to existing match commitments, the General Secretary must be informed immediately so that she is aware of the situation. At the next meeting a date will be arranged, should it still not be played then it will be classed as a tied match and each team shall receive 1 point.

  10. No team shall include a barred player when visiting premises from which that player is barred, unless prior permission is obtained from the Landlord, Landlady, Steward etc.

  11. Any team wishing to make a protest must do so within 7 days of the incident under protect, by writing to the General Secretary detailing the grievance and submitting a £5 deposit. If the protestant has the final decision in their favour the deposit will be reimburse, if however the decision goes against them, the deposit shall be donated into the league funds. NB: No protest will be heard without the relevant fee being paid.

  12. It is the duty of the Team Secretary’s to keep track of the published league tables. Should they find an error, they should contact the General Secretary immediately for rectification/clarification; under NO circumstances should it be left for several weeks. This will enable true publication.

  13. It is the responsibility of the home team captain to ensure that the match results are received by the General Secretary within 24 hours and the match sheet within 7 days. Any team failing to do so shall have 2 points deducted from their league scores.

  14. Any team failing to complete a season shall have points deducted from the results, however if the team fold within the second half of the season the points from the first half shall remain, the team withdrawing from the league shall be excluded from entering the League for a period of one season.

  15. If any team do not send enough players to constitute a win i.e. 5 players, for a period of 3 consecutive weeks, then that team will be eliminated from the league and all cup matches for the rest of that and the following season. Any points gained by other teams will be forfeited.

KNOCK OUT CUP/ANNIVERSARY CUP MATCHES

  1. Teams are to arrive at the venues no later than 8.30pm to enable a prompt 8.45pm start. In the early rounds matches will be decided playing 501 start, in the semi final and final it shall be 701 start.

  2. Captains are to spin for arrows.

  3. All cup matches must constitute a result, in the event of their being a draw due to lack of players from both sides, then one final leg is to be played, by players who have already played in the drawn match. The players are selected by the team captains and recorded as normal on the match sheet.

SINGLES, PAIRS AND FOURSOMES COMPETITIONS

  1. A fee of £2 per player is required by all entrants for each of the competitions.

  2. Players are to arrive at their given venues no later that 8.15pm to sign on. Any player not signed on by 8.30pm will not be permitted to play. Matches to start at 8.30pm.

  3. Singles and Pairs competition, in early rounds, best of 3 legs, 501 start, spin once only for arrows. In semi final and final best of 3 legs, 701 start, spin once only for arrows.

  4. Foursomes Competition, in the early rounds, best of 3 legs, 701 start, spin once only for arrows. In the final, best of 3 legs, 1001 start, spin once only for arrows.

  5. Substitutes will only be permitted in the first round of the competitions, and only if the substitute is a member of the same team.

CAPTAIN AND SECRETARYS COMPETITION

  1. Captain and Secretary’s of respective teams will be eligible to play in a knock out competition. This will be a straight knock out. In the early rounds playing, best of 3 legs, 501 start, spin once only for arrows. In the final best of 3 legs, 701 start, spin once only for arrows.
